Thank you for trusting your medical care to Digestive & Liver Health Specialists and the office of Nashville Gastroenterology and Hepatology. When you schedule an appointment with our practice, we set aside enough time to provide you with the highest quality of care. Should you need to cancel or reschedule a clinic appointment, please contact our office as soon as possible, and no later than 24-hours prior to your scheduled appointment. For procedure appointments, please contact our office no later than 48 hours prior to your appointment. If your office visit or procedure is scheduled for a Monday, all cancellations must be made by noon on the preceding Friday. This will give us time to schedule another patient who may be waiting for an urgent appointment. Our office cancellation/no-show policy is below. All credit cards will need to be kept on file.
• When a patient is scheduled with one of the doctors, Dr. Pointer or Dr. Sharma, and fails to show for an office visit or hemorrhoid banding procedure or cancels/reschedules their appointment without at least a 24-hour notice, this will be considered a NO SHOW and you will be charged a Rescheduling Fee of $125. For Monday appointments, cancellations must be made by noon on the preceding Friday. If a patient cancels on the day of their appointment, a rescheduling fee of $125 will be charged to the card on file or must be paid in full before your appointment will be rescheduled.
• When a patient is scheduled with one of the Nurse Practitioners or Physician Assistant and fails to show for an office visit, hemorrhoid banding procedure, anorectal manometry procedure, and ultrasound visit or cancels/reschedules their appointment without at least a 24-hour notice, this will be considered a NO SHOW and will be charged a RESCHEDULING FEE of $100. For Monday appointments, cancellations must be made by noon on the preceding Friday. If a patient cancels on the day of their appointment a RESCHEDULING FEE of $100 will be charged/billed to your credit card on file before the appointment is rescheduled.
• When a patient fails to notify our clinic at least 48 hours prior to a scheduled procedure appointment, it will be considered a NO SHOW.
• There will be a $275 charge for those who do not keep their procedure appointment or cancel with less than 48 hours. Procedure slots are very limited and by canceling in a timely manner, you will be helping other patients receive the care they need and deserve. Procedures will not be rescheduled until the fee is paid in full.
• Any patient who fails to notify our office at least 24 hours prior to their missed appointment 3 times will be dismissed from our practice and will need to contact their Primary Care Provider (PCP) for a referral to another gastroenterologist.
• These fees are your personal responsibility and are not billed or paid by your insurance company. It is your responsibility to make sure that we have updated and accurate phone numbers and email addresses so that we may confirm your appointments.
